Rose Spearman SINGER ROSE SPEARMAN LEAVES KRAAK & SMAAK
After four years singer/songwriter Rose Spearman leaves the band Kraak & Smaak to embark on a career of her own in the United States. It’s an amicable split, she claims. “My years with Kraak & Smaak belonged to the most instructive ones in my entire life. I’m very thankful and I owe the band a lot of credit for that. For four years we toured all over the world. In The US we’ve had the chance to get on nationwide television shows,’ adds Spearman.
Based on her international experience, Rose Spearman, daughter of US jazz saxophonist Glenn Spearman, now definitely chooses for her American roots.
In May 2010 she will start the recordings of her new solo album in Los Angeles. Andrew Bojanic and Liz Hooper aka powerhouse duo The Wizard of Oz (of Liz Phair and, Avril Lavigne-fame).will be in the producers’ seats. Says Andrew, ‘We collaborated on a song with Rose last year, and loved her voice, her delivery and her style. We're so excited to be working with her on this album. Rose is full of fresh ideas and inspiration, and we're all eager to make something new, and really special.
Marcel Albers, Spearman’s manager, will focus on Rose’s international career. ‘My departure as Kraak & Smaak ‘s manager coincides with Rose’s departure from the band. In recent years US media, labels, producers and agents showed an ever-increasing interest in Rose as the protagonist. The chances she now gets in the US are totally unique. Having said that, we got the right songs now and Rose is willing to move to the US for a longer period to do promotion and to tour. We shouldn’t miss out on this one.’
In October 2010 the new album will be out in Northern America and, after which Rose will embark on a US tour with her new band.
